There are over a hundred known cannabinoids and it can be a challenge to keep them apart, especially when some are legal and others are illegal. In our latest YouTube video, we go through the head cannabinoids that you find in our products at Smoketower.com and CBDapoteket.
Please note: The video contains products with cannabinoids that are illegal from January 16th, 2024. When the video was recorded they were still legal.

Cannabinoids are usually divided into head groups: Endo, Phyto, and Synthetic. Endocannabinoids are naturally produced in the human body and many mammals. They activate the body's cannabinoid receptors, like CB-1 in parts of the brain and CB-2 in the immune system. Phytocannabinoids are naturally produced by plant species like Cannabis/Hemp, Rhododendrons, and Cacao. The cannabis/hemp plant, in particular, produces loads of cannabinoid varieties. Synthetic cannabinoids are made in labs. The phytocannabinoids and the synthetic can also activate the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) and receptors.

CBD (Cannabidiol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and CBN (Cannabinol) are three of the non-psychoactive cannabinoids that are naturally found in hemp and cannabis plants. Of these CBD is the most common, while CBG and CBN are seen as "smaller" cannabinoids.

A cannabinoid's chemical profile can change with age and exposure to air, light, and heat. CBG can for instance turn into CBD the more mature a plant becomes and is mostly found in young plants that are harvested early. CBN, on the other hand, is created when THC is broken down and oxidized, and is mostly found in mature plants and long-time dried material. The differences between CBD, CBG, and CBN can be seen in the amount they exist in plants, how they are affected by time and outer factors, and what parts of the endocannabinoid system they activate.

CBD products usually contain less than 0,2% THC, below the legal limit. The exception is products made of CBD isolate, like the CBDeus Neutral Serum, a thoroughly filtered extract that doesn't contain any cannabinoids other than CBD. The opposite is a so-called full-spectrum extract that contains CBD, CBC, CBDA, CBG, CBN, THC, THCA, and THCV.

We can accommodate many CBD intakes, like e-juice through disposable vape or 510 battery, buds to roll into infused paper, and if you don't like vaping or smoking we have snus, oils, and sprays. Or you can use a cooling CBD gel and an infused bathbomb for extra relaxation.

Then we have the semi-synthetic variants H4CBD (Hexahydrocannabidiol), THCPO (Tetrahydrocannabiphorol acetate), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin). H4CBD is made by adding four hydrogen atoms to the CBD molecule through hydrogenation. It is thus a semi-synthetic cannabinoid variant produced in a lab, but the raw material still consists of ordinary hemp. THCPO is also produced in a laboratory from legal CBD hemp. It is a modified version of THCP where the acetate group O has been added. THCV is a decarboxylated form of THCVA with a slightly changed chemical structure and interaction with the endocannabinoid system.

Cannabinoids vary in potency and how they interact with the body's endocannabinoid system differently so you might need to test a few before you find the one that suits You the best. If you want to know how potent your material is we have a tip: tCheck. It is an easy and portable kit for testing infused butter and oil, dried hemp and flowers, concentrate, distillate, and isolate. Check out how the tCheck works.
